Eventually Rosalyn is given to the Salvation Army and is purchased as a surprise gift for Rosie, a young Holocaust survivor who is new to America. Rosie lovingly cares for Rosalyn but after Rosie dies, Rosalyn is neglected and becomes damaged. Linda's sister, Sue, finds Rosalyn at the Route 127 garage sales and Linda is able to lovingly rescue and restore Rosalyn to her former beauty. This touching picture book delicately reminds children and adults alike of the restorative power of love.
