Publisher's Synopsis
Nobody is certain why Don Maddox returned to his home town of Black Falls, Massachusetts. With no law enforcement background, he is hired by a police force that inspires more fear than trust in its citizens. When a murder takes place, both Maddox and the local police appear to have something to hide.
