Publisher's Synopsis

Fourteen-year-old Sara Carlisle is miserable when her parents announce their plans to divorce as she is finishing her last year of middle school. Sara believes her parents have ruined her summer and maybe her future. When her mom observes her wasting her time on reality TV and Oreos, she decides to send Sara to her friend's dude ranch to work for the rest of the summer.
The ranch proves to be more work than Sara thought, but she begins to enjoy herself and makes some new friends-with the exception of Rory Burke, an older boy who seems to enjoy making Sara feel awkward.
While she helps with the campers and works to overcome her own fear of horses, Sara learns about a mysterious young girl, also named Sarah, who died long ago and whose spirit haunts the ranch.
As summer comes to a close, Sara faces a real emergency. The old cook is hurt and Sara is the only one who can get her the help she needs. As she pushes aside her biggest fear, Sara channels the spirit of the other Sarah and rides through a storm to get help - with assistance from none other than Rory Burke.
