This is a book for elementary school grades 2 and 3 students. After Lazy Bear kills a rattlesnake that had terrified the pioneers, Lazy Bear is helped by a man who removes from his paw the rusty nail that had handicapped him.
Sandy Kornheiser is now living in the Great Smoky Mountains of North Carolina having loved nature and wildlife her entire life. Sandy had previously taught math in South Florida for 37 years.
