Mary is simple woman with a glamorous life. A critically acclaimed screenwriter with a variety of Awards on her mantle and a plethora of accolades from within the entertainment community. From all perspectives, Mary really seems to have it all. With work, Mary frustrated and filled with utter dismay, she wants to do something with purpose and without compromise. But she has nothing. One day Mary is doing kitchen work when she is instantly captivated by a news program featuring an interview with Charles Manson. Over the next few days, she becomes more and more fascinated by the serial killer who never killed anyone. She begins to research the Manson murders, followers, and anything related to the notorious man the public calls Monster.Mary becomes increasingly despondent. She spends every waking minute focusing on Manson and the brutal murders that took place back in 1969. Mary is overcome with the eerie feeling that she is being watched all of the time. Under the direction of a mischievous apparition and some angry souls from the beyond wanting to exact their revenge, Mary begins her transformation both on the inside as well as the outside, into a modern-day cult leader.Collecting runaways and homeless people along her journey, she sets up camp at Barker ranch. Mary and her new family enjoy their time out in the desert, being free to just be. But the "other residents" aren't so happy at the new arrivals and begin to taunt and torture Mary. She finally becomes so frightened she can't handle it anymore and she starts to unravel.
