Publisher's Synopsis

In this single volume John Kruse brings together his three interconnected novels set in the Midlands- 'The Inequity of redemption', 'A love foretold' and 'Jail, bait and the hook.' The stories are now arranged in chronological order of the events described, enabling readers to follow the stories of the lives of the central characters over a period of nearly thirty years. In the first novel, set in 1987, we meet Jann and his friends Sean and Jim and explore the consequences of Jann's unwise affair with an older married woman. In the second tale, having travelled forward five years, we meet Sean again and follow his turbulent love life, meeting on the way acquaintances from the previous story. In the last novel of the trilogy we reach the present day and explore the experiences of Jim's teenage daughter when she gets involved with a man twice her age. All the stories explore issues of sex and sexuality, turth and lies, fidelity and betrayal, set in the context of contemporary music, politics and culture.
