2014 Cyril de Villiers, a thirty year old recently retired officer from the French Army forces is about to finish his History thesis at the faculty of Nancy. On a weekend with his friends, they discover an old crypt in the church of a Lorrain hamlet where a castle used to stand long ago.
Little do the three young friends suspect that the finding of a codex in this crypt will become the center of interest and the source of conflicts between two rival Orders. Some will stop at nothing to lay hands on the secret it holds. This quest will lead them, in fine, to shine a light on the most fascinating enigma still unsolved to this day.
