Publisher's Synopsis

Book Summary: The Pomegranate follows the struggles of a little girl who grew up to be a neuroscientist, from her very first philosophical awakenings to her discovery of a potential new treatment for brain tumors. Pursuing her dreams and her inherent sense of curiosity, she confronts the trials and tribulations of earning a PhD, the difficulty of prioritizing relationships and career goals, the exhilaration of moving to Europe, and the thrill of leading a cutting-edge research team - followed by the heartbreak of divorce, the life-shattering effects of changes to immigration policy, and the dizzying process of picking up the pieces after life has gone awry. A true story, this memoir reveals one woman's incredible journey into a world of science, faith, love, heartbreak, and adventure.
