The Henderson family is one of the oldest in Manitoba, its identification with the growth and development of this province dating back nearly one hun dred years. The progenitor of this family, in Kildonan, was. Samuel Hender son, the father of Angus Henderson and the grandfather of Samuel R. Hender son, reeve of Kildonan. Samuel Henderson came from Scotland to the Red river settlement, in 1815, as a representative of the Hudson's Bay Company. Shortly after his arrival in the new country he joined the Selkirk settlers and purchased lot No. 39, East Kildonan, thereon establishing a home for his family. One day, however, he left home, became lost and was never seen nor heard of again.
