The story of the Highland Regiments from the forming of the Black Watch through to the first year of WWI, covering their engagement in such conflicts as the American War of Independence, Waterloo, the Crimea, Lucknow, the Boer War, and much more. The book is dedicated to the author's brother, Captain Henry Trelss Watson, who fell at Ypres in March 1915 and all proceeds from sales of the book for the duration of the War were to benefit the Officers' Families Fund. First published in 1915 with eight full-page illustrations. (Please note that it was not possible to reproduce the illustrations in colour in this Echo Library reprint.)
