Hailing from "a small planet" in the Sombrero Galaxy, Yomon is an interstellar traveler and observer who has become the Universal community's leading expert on humankind. Yomon has studied human culture for approximately 100 Earth years and has become "a fan" who sees humankind as possessing the rare combination of high intelligence and high artistic ability with the potential of making significant cultural contributions to the greater society of Universe-if it doesn't destroy itself first.
With the Voyager 1 space probe on its way to exiting Sol with a greeting from humankind to the Universal community, Yomon responds to that message with this "report" titled The Universal Perspective of Humankind on Earth to inform it that yes, there is a greater society of intelligent beings, but that it must get its act together if it wants to be a part of it. This report also doubles as a comprehensive entry into "The Database" to provide the Universal community "highly detailed insight into the unique culture of this species through the attempted use of its own vernacular in order to portray mannerisms that are otherwise difficult to describe using standard Database language."
Peace, freedom, limitless energy, thousand year life spans, free real estate, and relief from the deadly stresses of overcrowding on Earth are all possible if humankind learns to adhere to The Universal Law of Freedom. In order to comply, it must end the oppression and violence within its society and allow all beings to live freely and peacefully. The view of humankind "through the lenses of another" is brutally honest and at times unflattering, but the message is clear: humankind must wake up to the reality that it must stop fighting each other and start working together to move on from the crossroads of which it is stuck before it gets run over by the vehicle of extinction that is fast approaching from behind.
Yomon's quirky and passionate interpretation of the human vernacular reveals the appreciation and frustration one feels towards another who has great potential but is not willing to make the effort to fulfill it. Yomon's perspective swings from harsh criticism to playful attempts at human-style humor and implies that humankind would likely become a "cultural sensation" in a Universe filled with intelligent but relatively "uninteresting" beings. The report also includes illustrations that visualize the perplexing behavior of humankind and concludes with "The Universal Law of Freedom and the Ten Precepts of Peace," a list of ideas meant to help human individuals comply with The Universal Law of Freedom in the course of their daily lives.

Humans, please, for your own good, save yourself. No one else is going to save you, and patience will not be rewarded by miracles. The survival of your species is still in your hands, but your window of opportunity is closing. You are better than this. Many wonderful things await if you can start moving forward again and leave your acts of self-destruction behind.
