Publisher's Synopsis

The apparitions of Our Lady of Guadalupe in the capital of New Spain (Now Mexico City) on December 12th 1531 triggered an international alarm. Despite the slow communications of the age, the news was evaluated, transmitted, and action was taken as shown by the incendiary attempt on the Holy Shroud of Turin on December 4th 1532 at Chambery. The damage there suffered stands as a milestone, connecting both otherworldly images by a criminal plan to destroy them. The Calvinist headquarters, headed at the time by Guillaume Farel became immediately suspect, as Geneva stands barely 50 miles away from Chambery, and the accusations against them are well founded. This is a Historical novel grounded on solid facts. Novelizing to introduce the results of a multidisciplinary approach gives better entertainment without sacrificing information, which, as in this case, is followed by all the necessary underpinnings. Of general interest are the reasons ─both historical and theological─ of real events that make this fast moving, well researched, and fact-packed short novel worth reading. And the information, filling the historical vacuum on the motivation of both sides through the three Jewish-Roman wars that destroyed Israel, is just as important and entertaining.
