Publisher's Synopsis
Theodore Roosevelt's remarkable sense of the natural world is legendary; he worked hard to preserve the natural resources of the country. As president he signed into law five national parks and created eighteen national monuments. The U.S. Forest Service was formalized under TR, in addition to 150 national forests and the first federal bird reservations and game preserves. This land memorializes the twenty-sixth President of the United States; and this beautiful collection of photographs by Chuck Haney pays tribute to the land Roosevelt sought to protect for our and future generations.
