Play 1: Bored, Zeus creates servants to worship him. But he is unhappy with the gold, silver and bronze people he makes. Finally, Prometheus creates humans. Play 2: The sphinx controls the road to Thebes. The queen declares that she will marry whoever answers the Riddle of the Sphinx. Many men try and fail until a limping traveller succeeds.
