Publisher's Synopsis
A death bed confession,
a family who isn't really hers,
and newfound abilities released to her 18 years later.
For her an entire life Addie was a normal, hard-working American girl. That was until her mother, Giselle, got sick her senior year of high school. Weeks before her death she made a confession, that Addie isn't really her daughter and that deep inside her she was a hybrid of two different mystical types. Apparently it was her birth-mother's request that her true identity remain hidden and that she grow up mortal.
Before her death Giselle was able to explain some of the secrets she kept from her "adopted" daughter, but chose to keep Addie's true parentage a secret.
But now that Giselle is dead, Addie is left with more questions than answers. Who are her real parents? And why would her own mother give her away and insist on powerless anonymity?
To learn more about her newfound powers she insists on attending Embrie Academy, a school for others with her same mystical abilities. But could digging up her past mean an end to her future?
