Publisher's Synopsis

An old "Captain" (Billy Jones) arrives at Mr's Hawkins Inn and pays Jim to keep an eye out for sea-faring men. Some men arrive and Billy dies from a stroke shortly after the visit. Jim unlocks Billy's chest and finds a map, a journal and money. Dr Livesey deduces that the map leads to buried treasure. Squire Trelawney proposes they hire a ship and go in search of the treasure. Some time later, the squire sends for the Doctor and Jim. He introduces them to Long John Silver who is to be the ships cook. The ship's captain is not pleased with the crew, yet they set sail regardless. Just before land is sighted Jim overhears a plot amongst the crew and realises they are in fact pirates. The crew divides and the search for the treasure and the battle amongst the crew begins.
