Troy and Dean live in Victoria, Australia. When school is out, they often go in search of odd jobs to earn pocket money.
They meet a strange man by the name of John Elliott who is a good Samaritan living his life robbing banks to help the poor. One day he is arrested and thrown into jail sharing a cell with an ailing old man by the name of Ted Mulligan.
Mulligan shares with him a secret that he hasn't revealed to anyone since he was arrested twenty-five years ago--the whereabouts of hidden diamonds on Flinders Island.
John Elliott seeks the help of Troy and Dean to travel to Flinders Island and retrieve the diamonds, launching the unlikely lads on an adventure of a lifetime.
