Publisher's Synopsis
In his analysis of the solar system, Newton concluded that every planet has an elliptical orbit around the Sun, with the Sun at one focal point. This book shows that the Sun has a gravitational offset (a condition unknown to Newton) which causes the solar foci of those elliptical orbits to lie not at the center of mass of the Sun, but instead at a distance of about 4,300 meters from that center of mass. Thus from the standpoint of conventional astronomy, these orbits are anomalous. The book also presents a second example of stars with anomalous orbits.
