Women have been instrumental in shaping the peace movement in Canada for decades. In this wide-ranging and unique collection, 37 women activists and authors document and analyze the historical and current events of the movement from the early part of this century to the present.The issues raised by these historical, documentary, theoretical, cultural, and creative writings express the diverse strategies of women who work for peace and social justice. These women eloquently imagine, think, and act for a more peaceful world. At the same time they claim the peace movement has been substantially influenced by feminism.
