For its super fans, Warcross is much more than a game; it's a way of life. Emika Chen is a young hacker that seeks out players who bet on the game illegally. During the opening game of the International Warcross Championships, she accidentally becomes part of the action and becomes an overnight sensation. Convinced she will be arrested, she is shocked when she receives a call from Hideo Tanaka, the game's creator. He needs someone to spy on the tournament from the inside to help with a security problem. She travels to Tokyo and soon uncovers a plot that could have terrible consequences for the Warcross Empire.
