Publisher's Synopsis
Gabriel just wanted things to be normal again, but that seemed hopeless now. While their dad is lost in his own home-built laboratory performing unknown experiments and their mom is - literally - reading constantly all of a sudden, Gabe and his sister are barely managing to adjust to their new home in Ash Grove, the largest chunk of Haight City suburbia, an elegant, utopianesque hive of perfect cohesion. It's not what it appears to be though. Gabe's family quickly discovers that something is wrong in the sprawling Midwestern suburb, and whatever it is, it sure isn't normal.
