Publisher's Synopsis
Of all childhood cancers osteosarcoma is the most common bone tumour in children affecting approximately 400 children under the age of 20 every year. Generally osteosarcomas appear in school-age children and adolescents during the period when their bones are growing very rapidly. Most children find a diagnosis daunting and it may be difficult to understand why a common symptom, such as pain and swelling in their leg or arm, is so different.
