Major John Bradford returns from his second combat tour and decides to spend his Christmas leave with his sister back in his hometown. The pace of his life has been almost nonstop since the day the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq started. His two combat deployments have changed him from an untried Officer into a seasoned combat veteran whose fellow Soldiers hold in the highest regard. This is the first of a three-book series that brings John and Lisa together and the trials and tribulations that ensue as they both deal with the demands the Army makes as it fights the Afghan and Iraq wars. It can be a stand-alone book should you desire to leave the story at that point, but life rarely allows for simple endings.
