Publisher's Synopsis
This book is a testimony to the fact that cancer is survivable. When I wrote my first book titled Scarred But Not Scared, I talked more about the moment the news was shared to me. I had shared briefly with my audience very few of my experiences throughout my journey through breast cancer survival. Here in this book, I have found time to share the deeper sides of my personal story as it unfolded through rediscovery.
My personal philosophy says a lot about my story.
My body is stronger than I give it credit for. My confidence in my body has fully returned. I've learned to channel my doubts into cautious courage. I still sometimes get irritated when there is something I can't do, but I try to focus more on what I can do.
Laughter for me is the best medicine. I used to take life a bit more seriously. But cancer made me realize there is always room for laughter and looking at the lighter side of every situation.
Life is a gift not to be wasted. You get one opportunity to enjoy life. Don't waste it. That doesn't mean you won't make mistakes or that you must smile all the time. It means you should make the most of the time you have. Learn what you love, who you love, and go for it. Living life isn't about sitting on the sidelines.
