Publisher's Synopsis
In lycan society being different is not just inconvenient, it is a death sentence. Those with less than standard physical traits, no matter how insignificant, are viewed as mongrel dogs that have no place in a proper pack. Rebel, a bi-eyed female lycan, has defied the fate pitted against her and holds a position of power within her pack. As liaison, she outranks all of her pack members except for her brother Rogue who is second in command, and Raiden, the alpha. Despite her rank, Rebel faces a daily deluge of name calling, snide comments, and cruel allusions from her fellow pack members. However, as patient as she is with them, even Rebel has her breaking point. As if handling her pack's growing hatred toward her wasn't enough, Rebel suddenly finds herself dealing with a scientist named Barton who wishes the lycan pack to participate in an experiment geared toward creating stronger humans. Though she initially declines on behalf of the pack, Barton doesn't give up and continues to contact Rebel requesting additional negotiations. On top of these daily struggles, Rebel makes a frightening self discovery: she has fallen in love with the stoic, aristocratic alpha Raiden. Putting her feelings aside, convinced that they will forever be one-sided anyway, Rebel forges ahead with her "normal" life. When Rebel goes missing after what should have been a routine meeting with Barton, Raiden heads out alone to try and find her...hoping against all odds that Rebel will still be alive if and when he does.
