Publisher's Synopsis
Born on the island of Gont, famous for pirates and wizards, the boy Ged begins a journey that takes him to the Isle of the Wise, where the skills of wizardry are learnt. There he summons a malevolent spirit that sorcery cannot conquer. Pursued by this menace, Ged flees across the oceans and islands of Earthsea, searching for a means to defeat it.
