This reference guide to the patterns used during Worcester's first 40 years has now been updated with the addition of about 50 newly discovered patterns.;The authors begin with a review of the Worcester factory and its blue and white porcelain during the years 1751-90. This is followed by a pattern guide which divides the patterns into two sections: painted and printed. Each pattern is illustrated and accompanied by a commentary giving the date range during which it was used, the rarity of its design, the shapes of wares bearing it, etc.;Lawrence Branyan is a well known collector of Worcester 18th century porcelains and was involved in the 1979 excavations on the Warmstry House Factory site. Professor Neal French was formerly a designer at the Royal Worcester Porcelain Co Ltd. John Sandon is the director of the European ceramics and glass department at Phillips auction galleries in London. He is well known for his appearances on BBC Television's "Antiques Roadshow".
