Publisher's Synopsis
In September 1988 a workshop on dynamical systems was held at the International Centre for Theoretical Physics in Trieste, celebrating the 65th birthday of Rene Thom, a man whose ideas permeate modern dynamics. This volume contains resumes of most of the survey lectures and seminar talks given at the workshop.;The articles in this volume give an account of some developments in dynamical systems and related areas. The summaries of the survey lectures provide analysis of current research work on particular topics in the subject, such as the theory of stability, bifurcation theory, complex dynamics and entropy theory. Whereas, in general, the abstracts of the seminar talks give outlines of specific problems in the field.;It is designed for researches and graduate students working in mathematics, mathematical-physics and physics.
