Publisher's Synopsis

With the world at peace in the 22nd century, thanks in part to scientists on the international space station, the world government needs a place to store nuclear material that's no longer needed. Its officials buy desert lands of the Al-Bakhtari tribe with help from its young sheik to create a nuclear repository designed to withstand disaster. But all is not right with the sheik's wife; doctors learn the tribe carries a genetic disease that kills early. A gifted geneticist learns something amazing when he finds a way to cure the disease: tribe members have a gene for telepathy. What do they see in Earth's future?
When a devastating accident occurs that triggers cataclysmic events around the globe, small groups of survivors on the ground and in lunar stations must work together to ensure the human race survives, even if it's on a distant planet. Can they beat the overwhelming odds or will humanity be nothing but a memory?
