'Writing: Steps to Success Level 4 to 5+' is part of the 'Writing: Steps to Success' series. With emphasis on the key writing objectives at sentence and text level, the series as a whole focuses on improving pupil's writing and developing their understanding of the skills required to progress to the next level. Improvement in writing is targeted and achieved through review, investigation, analysis and supported practice.
'Writing: Steps to Success Level 4 to 5+' is divided into four strands, each one tackling specific National Strategy Framework Objectives for writing:
1) Writing to imagine, explore, entertain.
2) Writing to inform, explain, describe.
3) Writing to argue, persuade, advise.
4) Writing to analyse, review, comment.
Pupils are guided through the writing process, enabling them to produce a piece of writing that exemplifies the distinctive features of work at a higher level.
