Zines are independently produced 'magazines', and with no editors allowed, zine publishers are allowed to express their knowledge, experience, political perspectives and talent uninhibited. The result has been a thriving underground movement based on personal empowerment vigilantly challenging corporate control of main-stream media. The Zine Year Book is edited by two important and influential figures in the zine world and is an important voice against media congomeration and consumer culture.
